Web Hosting that Grows with Your Business

Posted on April 27th, 2011 by Jason  |  No Comments »

One of the most common things that happens to people with web hosting is they outgrow it. This usually happens as a result of their business becoming bigger and better than they ever thought possible and then they are all of the sudden faced with a web hosting package that can’t do all the things they need done, such as adding videos and the like.

While you may think you can get away with a bare bones web hosting company forever, in reality, you never know what will happen to your business. Even if your website isn’t used for business, it may evolve into a business, or just evolve to the point where you want to do more with it.

Instead of going with that bare bones web hosting company that only offers one package, you can choose from many that now offer several packages. These web hosting companies usually have a three-tier system and start with a bare minimum package, then have an intermediate package, followed by a package with all the bells and whistles.

The packages will cost more as you go up, but you should be able to easily find a web hosting company that will allow you to take the best package according to your needs without having to sign a contract. So, you could be at the bare minimum package for three months, move to the highest package for one month, and then move to the intermediate for five month. Whatever the best solution is for you, they will allow it.

This flexibility allows you to keep the same web hosting company for the life of your website and avoids you having to go through the hassles of switching web hosting companies when your website’s needs outgrow a certain package. So, pictures, videos, added e-mail address, whatever you need, will all be at your fingertips whenever you need it.

Using Website Builders to Bring Your Idea Online

It used to be that a website had to be built by someone who could speak the complicated code language that computers understand, but now you too can build a great looking website with minimal efforts thanks to the many different website builders. Website builders allow even a novice to be able to take their ideas and dreams and bring them online in the form of a website.

All website builders come with templates. The number of templates will vary depending on the website builder you use, but they all serve the same purpose. A template gives you a pre-built structure where your website will take root.

Once you have selected a template from the website builder’s inventory, you then decide on the color scheme. Then you simply drag some pictures over here, and type some text over there, and so on. Before you know it your website is starting to take on its own identity.

Once your website is finished and looks the way you want it to, you click one or two more times and your website is live for the entire online community to see. If you need to change anything, you can at your leisure and with a few more clicks, those changes will go live as well.

Best of all, many of the most popular website builders come free when you host your website with certain web hosting companies. You have to have your website hosted by somebody, so you may as well go with a company that gives you a website builder as an added perk.

If you have an idea or a dream and you have wanted to make it into a website, what are you waiting for? Website builders make it possible for anyone, even you, to create the website of their dreams in no time at all.

Web Hosting Number One Concern – Customer Service

Posted on April 15th, 2011 by Jason  |  No Comments »

Web hosting these days is offered by so many different companies that it can almost make you sick tying to decide which one to use. While price and page loading speed are certainly concerns that should be addressed with any web hosting company you are looking at, the number one concern you should be focusing on is customer service.

It’s important to note that not all web hosting companies have great customer service. While you might think that this only goes on with cheap web hosting companies, in actuality, web hosting companies of all price ranges have good and bad customer service so you have to look closely.

When you are looking into a web hosting company you need to be sure that they first of all have a customer service department. This may sound crazy, but look for yourself. Some web hosting companies will have an 800 number for sales, but nothing for service. While the 800 number for sales is great before the sale, what about after the sale?

Even if the web hosting company does have an 800 number for customer service, you still need to look at the hours. Many are only 9am to 5pm, Monday thru Friday and while that is better than no phone support at all, problems can occur with your website at anytime, not just during work hours on weekdays.

Only a web hosting company with an 800 number that can be called on a 24/7 basis is worth you looking into. If your website encounters problems, you need to have them addressed right away, not the next day, not the following Monday.

Web hosting is an obvious necessity if you have a website. However, you have the choice of which company you use to host your website and choosing one without a dedicated customer service line that can be reached no matter what time or what day it may be is a real recipe for disaster.

Is Cheap Web Hosting Good Web Hosting?

Posted on April 7th, 2011 by Jason  |  No Comments »

One of the most commonly asked questions in regards to web hosting is, “Is cheap web hosting, good web hosting?”  The answer to that question is it all depends on the web hosting company itself.

Price is really more of a secondary issue and just because a web hosting company is a bargain, or cheap, doesn’t mean that it can’t be a good web hosting company to use. Of course it doesn’t mean that it will be a good web hosting company to use either.

What you want to look for is a web hosting company offers great uptime (at least 99.9%), fast page loads, a lot of disk space, and great customer service. If a web hosting company you are looking at has all of these items in place and it is a cheap price, then you’ve found a bargain. If not, you should keep looking around.

Be warned though, just because you spend an arm and a leg on web hosting doesn’t mean that it will be really good web hosting. The same rules apply, as far as what to look for, with the expensive web hosting companies as it does with the cheap web hosting companies.

Really it all comes down to how much you want to spend. You can find what would be considered to be a cheap web hosting company and still get all the bells and whistles and you can find an expensive web hosting company and receive all the same. So the real question then becomes, “Why would you want to spend more on web hosting if you can get everything you need with cheap web hosting?” The answer to that question is obviously, you don’t and you don’t have to as there is plenty of cheap web hosting that is good web hosting.
